July 2022 Email From The President

As we approach the 4th of July weekend, it’s hard to believe that we are halfway through 2022 already. And what a year it has been! The first 6 months have demonstrated all that we can accomplish by working together to enhance the quality of life of our Village. By way of example, with the vocal support of the community, we were able to help preserve the historic property of Tarad Hill thereby protecting the open space surrounding Marshallton. In early February, MCT shared the love with our neighbors in need by holding a very successful food drive to benefit the West Chester Food Cupboard. And just last month, Strasburg Road was a sea of red, white and blue as we brought back the Marshallton Memorial Day Parade, a time-honored community event. Now we are planning for the return of the Marshalton Triathlon–one of the longest-running triathlons in the country.

We know that all we have accomplished so far is made possible through the continued support from our volunteers and donors. Earlier this month, we received a generous gift from a Facebook community member, Carla Mudry, who selected Marshallton Conservation Trust as the beneficiary of her Facebook birthday fundraising campaign. We are also very fortunate to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors, Cristina Bennett and Brandi Levine, both of whom are residents of the village proper. They are both skilled, experienced and already engaged in helping us to advance our mission to preserve the past, protect the present, and plan for the future of Marshallton.

It truly does take a village and we are so grateful to be a part of such a special community. Thank you for continuing to support the Marshallton Conservation Trust.

Sincerely,

Bob Portnoy's Signature
