Spring Is in the Air

Updated: Mar 27, 2023

Spring is in the air and like the flower buds peeking through winter-weathered gardens, we too find ourselves ready to reconnect with nature and each other. In a small, historic village like Marshallton, one of our favorite pastimes is gathering with our friends and neighbors with whom we share a deeply-rooted sense of community. So you might imagine our excitement for the return of one of our favorite community events, the Marshallton Souper Supper and Spring Meeting which will be held in person in a couple of weeks for the first time since 2019. Per tradition, we will gather at the Marshalton Inn to enjoy a bowl of delicious soup and hearty conversation led by a panel of community representatives that will provide an update on topics of shared interest for our Village, including the Marshallton Beautification Project, the Planned 250th Celebration of America, and a panel discussion on the newly proposed West Bradford Historic Resource Ordinance.

As Springtime blossoms, we hope to see you out and about in the Village and hope you can join us on Thursday, April 13th at the Marshalton Inn. Please RSVP by clicking on the button below or by emailing Cendrine Gemberling at <cendrinegem@gmail.com>. Thank you!

Community Spotlight: Harry E. Cann

As the patriarch of modern day Marshallton, Harry Cann made an indelible mark on Chester County and beyond. A successful industrialist, farmer and highly-regarded artist, Harry Cann lived, worked, and painted in the Village of Marshallton for over 60 years. A special presentation by Robin Ashby, Marshallton Conservation Trust Board Officer, Grandson of Harry Cann, and author of The Industrialist’s Brush: Watercolors of Harry E. Cann, will be a featured topic at the Marshallton Souper Supper on April 13th.
