Yvonne McFadden has lived in or near Marshallton for over 40 years. She spent her professional career as a high school French teacher in the Downingtown Area School District, where she instituted a French exchange program with a partner school in Paris and was named Teacher of the Year in 2010. Yvonne completed her undergraduate studies at West Chester University and received a Masters from NYU in Paris. Besides teaching, she and her husband, Jack (co-founder of the Marshalton Triathlon), owned and operated several restaurants in the Chester County area, including The Marshalton Inn, the Oyster Bar (now The Four Dogs Tavern), The Restaurant and The Bar (now Kildares), The Turks Head Inn (now Barnaby’s), Jack’s Steaks and Shakes, and the Gables in Chadds Ford.
