In 1904 Ron’s father John H Trimble was born in Trimbleville. His grandfather, who ran the family mill in Trimbleville for several years, purchased a home at 1324 W. Strasburg Rd. in 1921. His mother Catharine Shoemaker was born in 1906 at Northbrook. In 1928 they were married and had a total of 3 children. They were Kenneth, Harold (Archie), and Ronald. He resided in Marshallton until 1972. He attended Marshallton School on Sugars Bridge Rd. and later went to Downingtown Jr. Sr. High School from where he graduated. He worked with his father for a few years in his woodshop at the rear of the property, and in later years worked at the family’s greenhouses in Marshallton and Telegraph Rd. He belonged to the Cub Scouts and later Boy Scout Troop 52. Also, he served as an active member of the West Bradford Fire Co. for several years and was an active member of the Marshallton United Methodist Church. As Ron says “to me, Marshallton was the best place for anyone to grow up in. It was a great little village, and I can still see that today”.
