Conservation Spotlight:
Arbor Day Tree Planting

Join West Bradford Township on Friday, April 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Shadyside Park for a special Arbor Day tree planting celebration. In a meaningful nod to our shared history, seeds germinated during Humphry Marshall’s 300th celebration will be planted at Shadyside Park and throughout the Village, with a ceremonial planting at Embreeville Park. Efforts like this reflect the shared commitment across our community to preserve our natural heritage and steward the landscape for future generations.

A Most Patriotic Celebration in Marshallton

Mark your calendars for A Most Patriotic Celebration in Marshallton on July 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. This special afternoon of reflection and community will begin at the Bradford Friends Meeting House with Dare to Declare, a reading of the Declaration of Independence. From there, participants are invited to walk to the Marshallton Blacksmith Shop for Eugene Hough’s Heritage Flag Ceremony, an inspiring program that honors the history of our nation and the meaning of the American flag. The celebration will conclude with a walk to Martin’s Tavern / Humphry Marshall Historical Park for the Friends of Martin’s Tavern Annual Ice Cream Social, where the Chester County 250 Traveling Exhibit will also be on display.
As a preview of this special program, a screening of the Dare to Declare video will be featured at this year’s Souper Supper & Spring Meeting.
