As the hills around Marshallton trade their summer greens for shades of amber and gold, our village awakens with familiar charm: the sound of laughter, the buzz of creativity, and the simple joy of neighbors gathering together.
This year’s Art in Marshallton: En Plein Air Painting Event brought together 27 artists from across the Tri-State area, who set up their easels throughout our historic village and six neighboring properties, capturing Marshallton’s beauty and character in every brushstroke. The air buzzed with conversation and the soft scratch of brushes on canvas as neighbors strolled by, paused to admire the works in progress, and chatted with the artists bringing our landscapes to life.

We were privileged to welcome Valerie Craig, established artist and teacher, as our Quick Draw Event judge, and Margaret Winslow, Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Delaware Art Museum, as our Art Show and Reception judge. Their expertise and insight brought depth and recognition to a weekend that beautifully merged art and community.
Congratulations to our talented winners!
