As autumn gives way to winter and the last of the golden leaves fall along the village streetscapes, we’re reminded of how fortunate we are to call Marshallton home. Each season brings its own beauty, but none shines brighter than the spirit of gratitude that fills our community this time of year.
It is our privilege to serve the Marshallton community as we work to promote the history of the Village, maintain its sense of place, and protect the open space and natural resources of its environs. During this time of gratitude, please accept our sincerest appreciation for your continued support, which enables us to propel our mission into action. Together, we will continue to preserve the past, protect the present, and plan for the future.
You've Made an Impact
The Marshallton Conservation Trust's accomplishments in the areas of Open Space Conservation, Historic Preservation, and Community Events are a direct result of your continued support. Thank you!
History Spotlight:
Honoring Our Roots
Have you spotted the new signs welcoming you to the Village of Marshallton? Proudly recognizing our status as a National Register Historic District, these signs are a visual reminder of the village’s rich heritage and rural charm.
The signs were donated by the Marshallton Conservation Trust and installed by West Bradford Township—an excellent example of community partnership in action. Together, we continue to preserve the sense of place that makes Marshallton so special.
Conservation Update:
Embreeville Property

Important progress is underway at the former Embreeville State Hospital property, where West Bradford Township is leading a major revitalization effort to transform the 196-acre site into a safe, accessible, and vibrant community resource. Building on more than two years of planning and resident input, the Township has focused first on essential cleanup and site stabilization: Removing hazardous trees, improving stormwater systems, repairing the main access loop, and preparing the landscape for long-term public use.
Planning and design work is also moving forward on several future amenities, including multipurpose grass athletic fields, upgraded parking areas, enhanced stormwater infrastructure, and roadway improvements such as the restoration of Ryan Boulevard. Looking ahead to 2026–2027, plans include trail development, new recreational facilities, improved access routes—including a connection to Route 162—and amenities such as picnic areas and pollinator gardens.
An exciting partnership with Scout Troops 52 and 19 and Cub Scout Pack 152 will also establish a dedicated Scout Camp on an adjacent property, supporting outdoor education and stewardship while assisting with trail maintenance throughout the Embreeville site.
Together, these investments represent a thoughtful balance of recreation, open space, and environmental care—an effort that will benefit the greater community for generations to come.
